Dr. Christopher S. Gilbert is a physician, public health practitioner, and educator from Grenada, West Indies. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in 2019 from the Escuela Latinoamericana de Medicina (ELAM) in Havana, Cuba, and holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Suffolk in the United Kingdom. He also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from Liverpool John Moores University and is pursuing a Master of Health Management at Unicaf University in Zambia.
Dr. Gilbert’s clinical career spans emergency medicine, psychiatry, and academic medicine. He served at the General Hospital in St. George’s and the Mt. Gay Psychiatric Unit before joining St. George’s University as a clinical instructor, where he contributes to the training and mentorship of future physicians. He also provides private medical care to residents and international guests through St. George’s Medical Services.
His research interests focus on health literacy and medication adherence in chronic diseases, vaccine hesitancy, and the health impacts of climate change in Grenada. He is also authoring The Last Chance, a forthcoming book that explores the phenomenon of terminal lucidity, blending clinical science with human narratives of end-of-life care.
Beyond medicine, Dr. Gilbert is an active Rotarian and a school board member at a Roman Catholic institution in Sauteurs, where he supports educational and community development.
