David Mullings is Founder, Chair and CEO of Blue Mahoe Holdings, Inc. a privately held company based in Florida, USA that has ownership interests in a collection of diversified businesses operating in sectors including real estate, asset management, private credit, media and apparel, mainly connected to the Caribbean. Their main company Blue Mahoe Capital, Inc, an impact investment firm focused on affordable housing and asset management with a strong Caribbean focus received SEC qualification for their public offering to raise up to US$5 Million at US$10 per share, the first US-based company to receive a Reg CF qualification to raise capital and invest in the Caribbean. He founded Blue Mahoe Capital to give retail investors easier access to investment opportunities in the Caribbean. As a business owner and investor, he credits his tenacity, competitiveness and drive to the discipline of his early roots in Jamaica.
Mullings currently serves on the Alumni Board of Directors for the University of Miami, the Latin America and the Caribbean Initiatives Advisory Board for the Herbert School of Business at The University of Miami, the Board of Directors for the Institute of Caribbean Studies in Washington, D.C., which gets the sitting President of the USA to declare June as Caribbean-American Heritage Month each year and the advisory board for the Caribbean School of Data based at the Mona School of Business at the University of the West Indies based in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a Director of Sprint Financial Services Ltd, a Jamaican small business loans company in which Blue Mahoe Holdings owns a minority stake, sits on the advisory board of MapEx, one of the largest exporters of farming and industrial equipment to the Caribbean and was the first Future Leaders Representative for the USA on the Jamaica Diaspora Advisory Board which advised the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade for Jamaica.
He previously worked with Left Brain Capital Management, a long-biased hedge fund, The RMP Group, focused on lower middle market PE in the Southeast USA and Jamaica National Building Society over three stints where he was part of the product development team designing mortgages, savings and investment products as well asl launching their internet banking platform JN Live.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Mr. Mullings earned a Bachelor of Science degree at age 19 from the University of Miami and an M.B.A. from the Herbert School of Business with concentrations in Marketing and International Business. He has been married to Kathryn since 2007 and they have 3 children, Luke, Liam and Lyla.
