Nicole K. Grimes is an award-winning education consultant, professional development leader, and entrepreneur. A former New York City high school principal and STEM educator for over 25 years across public, private, and charter schools, Grimes has served as an adjunct assistant professor at varied institutions including CUNY Lehman, CUNY SPS, NYU & Pace University.  She earned an M.A. in Secondary Science Education from Columbia University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Cornell University. She also holds a Ph.D. in Urban Education with a concentration in Mathematics, Science and Technology from CUNY The Graduate Center.

Grimes has garnered numerous awards and accolades for both her scholarly and community-based work. She made history as the first woman of color lay principal at the top-ranked Dominican Academy girls’ high school in NYC from 2015-2018.

In 2018, she transitioned to full-time consulting, pursuing her passion for Caribbean culture and entrepreneurship. She founded Carib Biz Network (CBN) in 2019. Today, CBN is a blossoming business development ecosystem to support micro, small and medium business owners and dedicated to fostering economic opportunity and strengthening small Caribbean businesses in North America and beyond.   Its mission is to connect, support, amplify and deliver information and resources to entrepreneurs to make them more impactful and successful brands. CBN offers workshops, webinars, networking and social events, pop-up markets and marketing and branding services via its internal creative agency – Creative MRKT. With its three core values of Education, Events/Community & Marketing, CBN remains fervently committed to the success of its growing network of 700+ members.
