Mr. Ilan Chinapoo is a seasoned leader with over twenty-seven years of experience in the Caribbean and Central American Banking and Finance sector. In his current role as the CEO of the Guardian Group since October 2022, he oversees the company’s growth and management. Before that, he made significant contributions to the Massy Group, holding pivotal positions as Executive Director, Group Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Vice President until 2022.
Mr. Chinapoo’s leadership extends to roles such as Executive Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Unit Trust Corporation and managing directorships at CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank and Citigroup Bahamas.
A passionate educator, Mr. Chinapoo has been an Adjunct Faculty member at the Arthur Lok Jack Graduate School of Business since 1995. His dedication to imparting knowledge has seen him lecture in various areas, from Strategy Orchestration to International Finance.
Beyond the corporate world, Mr. Chinapoo’s commitment to his community is evident in his past roles as Deputy Chairman of the National ICT Company of Trinidad and Tobago (iGovT) and as a former Director of the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Today, he serves as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of The National Commercial Bank of Anguilla.
